Health Care Responsibility

Mukul Madhav Foundation has been associated with several hospitals in Pune, through their social work department, Finolex Industries has helped many of these hospitals by developing the infrastructure.

In addition to this, to create public awareness about a healthy lifestyle, MMF has sponsored an event called Bhag Pune Bhag – a Marathon which was held in October 2013, which was organized by Prashanti Cancer Care Mission.

Training Of ASHA & ANM Nurses

Finolex Pipes & Mukul Madhav Foundation in partnership with Symbiosis College of Nursing, Pune have been working towards improving the quality of life for the children of Satara District.

To address the issue of Cerebral Palsy at a grass root level, qualified doctors, nurses and other medical team members from the Symbiosis College of Nursing have been provided requisite training in the area of pregnancy & labor to the ASHA Health Workers, Nurses, and Ancillary Staff.

This training enhances the abilities of these Health Workers to identify & prevent high-risk pregnancies amongst the women in the villages of Satara. So far 862 Nurses have been trained.

Supporting Sassoon General Hospital, Pune

In April 2017, MMF & FIL along with Shreemant Dagduseth Halwai Ganpati Trust came together to inaugurate a 59 bedded state-of-the-art Neonatal (ICU) at B.J.Govt.Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, Pune.

Since the inauguration of this NICU, MMF & FIL have been continuously supporting the hospital with upliftment & upgrading of infrastructure:

1. Donation of ROP (Early intervention for blindness) & OAE Machines (Early intervention of deafness)

2. Inaugurated an Endoscopy Unit in loving memory of our Late Founder Shri. Pralhad P. Chhabria and Smt. Mohini P. Chhabria.

3. 3 Waiting Areas – Dedicated to patients family and caretakers

4. Along with like-minded supporters have come forward to donate and upgrade the Dental facility with a state of the art implant and laser treatment unit benefitting 530 patients.

5. Also renovated a reading room, which can be used by 100 medical students and faculty of B J Medical College

Finolex Industries Limited and its CSR partner Mukul Madhav Foundation always believe in upgrading the existing facilities for the greater good of all and this Neonatal ICU is yet another proof of that.

School Health Camps

In order to uplift the healthcare services in the areas of Maharashtra & Ratnagiri, MMF & FIL began conducting free health camps in the schools in these areas and have continued with it on a bi-annual basis. Dentists, Ophthalmologists, General Physicians, Audiology & Speech Therapy specialists and ENT surgeons screen approximately 16,000 children a year.

Mission Cerebral Palsy

In 2015, FIL & MMF stepped forward to assist the children affected with Cerebral Palsy in Satara, giving rise to the revolutionary project, Mission Cerebral Palsy.

The Mission started with a donation of a specially designed wheelchair to schools and determined to tackle the situation from the root, we began door to door assessment of these cases. Further to which, portable commodes and orthotic devices were provided.

Continuing this support, Mukul Madhav Foundation started conducting regular assessment and physiotherapy camps at 6 FIL rehab centers in collaboration with Sancheti Hospital, Pune bringing together renowned specialists to ensure the well-being of the affected children in Maharashtra.

Additionally, MMF has undertaken significant efforts to spread awareness about the condition among rural masses through the weekly airing of the show, “Haunsla Aage Badne Ka”, on All India Radio.

Giving these kids hope for a better future, MMF has successfully enabled two girls, Ms. Priyanka & Ms. Arpita, to not only become financially independent but also support their families. Till date, we have successfully conducted 39 surgeries, 7 assessment camps and have donated 178 wheelchairs, 104 portable commodes and 100 specially designed CP school chairs & 88 orthotics to these children.

So far, we have touched the lives of 986 children affected by the condition across Maharashtra

Mammography Camps

To sensitize and create public awareness about breast and cervical cancer, Mukul Madhav Foundation, in association with Finolex Industries Limited and Prashanti Cancer Care Mission, decided to establish a Cancer Diagnostic Clinic at Parkar Hospital, Ratnagiri called, “Finolex Women’s Well-Being Clinic“. Mammography and Colposcopy tests are conducted and provided at a subsidized cost here.

Twice a year, we organize Mammography camps at the clinic, where Finolex Pipes sponsors 80% of the cost, to promote and spread the message of continuous and compulsory health check-ups to all women of Ratnagiri.

Geriatric Camps

With a vision to provide specialized healthcare services & facilities accessible to the elderly, Finolex Pipes & Mukul Madhav Foundation began this new initiative in the region of Satara.

Over the past few months, we have covered around 1200 geriatrics at these camps, where a team of specialist doctors from renowned hospitals in Pune attended to the patients and carried out the necessary diagnosis. Encouraged by the response received, we will organize a geriatric camp every month in Satara & aim to extend our support to other districts of Maharashtra.
