A coincidence or stroke of luck, you won’t believe how this story unfolds!

On April 28, Omkar Pawar, 12, a student at the Apang Kalyankari Shikshan Sanstha (APSS), had no clue that his tips to Rising Pune Supergiant pacer Jaydev Unadkat for taking a hat-trick would turn into a reality. This happened during a meet-and-greet program organized by Mukul Madhav Foundation, Finolex Pipes & Gulf Oil in Pune!

It may be a mere coincidence but a few days later, Jaydev Unadkat took a hat-trick against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final over of the game.  The Sunriser’s were two sixes away from victory with 6 balls left & to his luck, Jaydev produced a rare hat-trick maiden with 3 wickets back to back! This won the match for the SuperGiants by 12 runs. Unadkat had taken Bipul Sharma, Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s wicket to finish the game with five wickets.

During the meet & greet, Omkar advised Unadkat not to grip the ball from its seam. He rather asked the Saurashtra bowler to grip the ball across the seam “to get a hat-trick”. The event was attended by Jaydev Unadkat, Pune skipper Steve Smith and South African batsman Faf du Plessis! Jaydev in fact went ahead and posted a video of the kid advising him on his instagram account testifying that he didn’t take the kid’s advice lightly.

APSS is an organization working towards the education of specially-abled children in the city and is supported by Finolex Industries Ltd. and Mukul Madhav Foundation.
